One day. One day is all it took for me to devour this series. The writing is captivating, the characters flawed and delicious and the dialogue is so real I could almost physically hear the words being whispered in my ear. One word: Amazing.

    • cdreiss says:

How freaking hot is he? And how lucky am I that I can invent him for you. I am so glad you are enjoying my little stories! Yay!

  15. Anna says:

What is it about these types of stories that keep us coming back? Would we still be interested if the male protagonist was just an average joe? I’m not complaint but I just had to ask.
I didn’t just jump onto the BDSM bandwagon with the release of the “50 Shades” trilogy. I’ve read other non-traditional BDSM waaaaayy before that!
I really enjoy your writing Ms. Reiss, and would love to know your take on the M/M phenomena!
Thanks for writing that is fresh, and inspiring, and a real treat to read.

    Anna

    • cdreiss says:

      Hi Anna,

Well, I use a lot of the story techniques you find in TV shows to keep your interest peaked.

Thanks for the m/m questions Anna, it’s not one I usually get!

One writer in particular inspired me to write erotica, and she is m/m. her sex writing is beautiful and shameless. She opened my eyes to how good it can be and I was all over it after that. her name is T. Baggins. Check her out!

  16. Catherine says:

Oh my. I read it all in about a day, and am on pins and needles until the last one comes out. The series is beautifully written, I simply could not stop until I read all that was available.

  17. Martha says:

I have loved your books and can’t wait for this one!!

  18. Kristina says:

Dear CD Reiss, what a wonderful series! AŇ• first I enjoyed it, like, a lot, but when I read the sentence “Kevin Weinwright puts his shit in the box”, I totaly fell in love. Your characters are so well defined, complex and real, the writing so witty, intelligent and honest, very much like your heroine:-), I am simply enchanted by it! Not to mention the eroticism was HOT! It was a real treat to read this. Thank you and all the best with your writing.

  19. Jacqueline White says:

CD, your books have captivated me. Stolen my attention away from everything else. Thanks for the ride with Jonathan and Monica. I enjoyed it immensely. It’s definitely a re-read for me. 24. Viv Elliott says:

Oh my word. These books are amazing. I read sequence one last weekend after a review by s&m book obsessions. Then I got the rest and they got better. I just finished resist. I couldn’t put them down l. Wow. Will sing be out in the UK on October 7th? Only problem is I picture Michael fassbender as Jonathon so in my head he has wn Irish accent.

    • cdreiss says:

Michael Fassbender is 100% Jonathan, or the other way around….but he is IT in my mind, accent or not. ūüėČ

Sing will be released Oct 7th. It’ll be in the UK as soon as Amazon does its Amazon pain in the ass thing.

  36. Gwen says:

OMG….You had me at “I keep telling myself I didn’t want you, but we said no lies, and I think that includes lying to myself. How about you?” I read all of the Songs of Submission in 2 days. This was the best read since…well I won’t even compare your series and 50 shades. Your writing was gripping, the characters flawed but so human and relatable, I COULD NOT STOP READING!!! I almost fell apart when I thought Jonathan was going to die but you have me believing in happily ever after’s again. You have a new fan and I look forward to reading your next series.

  37. Aulbrey says:

Just wanted to take a moment and tell you Thank You!! These books are awesome, I loved each and every one of them from beggining to end. You created wonderful characters and a great storyline. Jonathan is a hunk of man! LOL wish he was mine!! I wish there was more, I am looking forward to your next series but I soooo wish their was more of Jonathan and Monica’s story! 39. Monica Solis says:

I recently read all the Songs of Submission Books. I love them! I love Jonathan and Monica! Especially since ‘Monica’ and I have the same name … It made it that much easier for me too imagine it was me with Jonathan, lol.

I cried so much in book seven, I counted down the days it was to be released, I even set an alarm on my phone so I could buy it first thing in the morning! I was so sad to read the last pages of Jonathan and Monica’s life together. I wish there was more of them. I would love to read about their marriage.

Thank you for your beautiful words ūüôā

    ~Monica

    • cdreiss says:

Hi Monica. I’m glad you liked it. I’m releasing a short story to the mailing list that i’ think you’ll like, and a Coda will be released some day. Please get on that mailing list ūüôā

  40. Chris says:

I was in tears during the last few pages of Sing…….wonderful series…appreciate her, her art and finding him….where was he when I was younger?

  41. Looking forward to being on your list. I loved SOS.

  42. Mandi says:

    Dear Ms. Reiss,

To compare your books to any other would truly be a crime and should be punished! I have never been as obsessed with a series or its characters in all my life!! If you knew how many books I read on average in any given month you’d know how great a compliment that is. The fact that I even purchased one of your books in the first place was kind of a fluke, but I’m so glad I did! I normally refuse to purchase any book that has less than 300 pages, although I prefer them to have at least 350. The reason is because I read so fast and so often that I already spend a fortune each month on books. The more pages a book has, the less books I have to buy and that’s less money I spend per month.

As much as I enjoyed each and every book in the SOS series and hated to see it end, I have to admit it’s almost a relief. Ever since I started reading Sequence One, I haven’t gotten a single thing accomplished and I’ve neglected all my responsibilities. I’ve been totally hooked, but man was it worth it!!! I LOVED EVERY SINGLE SECOND!!!!

Your stories come to life right before my eyes like no other. Your characters are people I can relate to with emotions and feelings I can experience right along with them. When Monica was angry, I felt rage. When she was sad and crying, I cried right along with her. When Monica was losing it after Jessica’s confrontation with her broken wrist and Debbie told her to “be a woman of grace,” I could feel my own strong will and determination as I read how Monica straightened her spine, pulled her shoulders back, and held her head high. I could go on and on because it wasn’t only Monica whose emotions I experienced, I related to each character’s feelings and it’s all due to your amazing writing! For that, I thank you.

I truly look forward to reading anything and everything you write in the future. I appreciate the sacrifices you make as an author, as I’m sure it can’t be easy on your family and friends. I also appreciate your willingness to share your stories with us, your readers, as well as the part of yourself that inevitably comes with each book you write. I can’t image writing a series like this without giving a piece of yourself away. You have most definitely gained a loyal reader and fan for life!

    Very sincerely,

    ~Mandi

    • cdreiss says:

      Thank you.

      Thank you thank you.

Your letter pleases me. I’ve dealt with 20 years of publisher and Hollywood rejection. Self-publishing has been life changing. Reaching people‚Ķfinally‚Ķwho can hear whatever dumb thing I have to say is changing me chemically into a better person, if that makes sense.

Your letter was very well received. Thanks.

I am steadfastly ignoring FSoG and its sequels, not because I don’t love BDSM, but because I’ve read too many negative reviews. However, I’ve read many positive reviews of your books and look forward to reading them.

  52. Kim says:

I must say to the author that I enjoyed this series. Thank You. I loved the characters and the breakdown of their relationship. In all, the way the story is written..is exceptional. I was a easy and great read. I don’t give out compliments when it comes books or the writers. (I guess because i read romance constantly and they all seem the same, especially Romance.) But here goes…..GOOD JOB, I AM NOW A BIG FAN!! This series stands alone. KG

  53. Kerry says:

A friend of mine highly recommended your books, and without really knowing anything about them, I decided to buy the first sequence. I have a Nook tablet and bought the Nook books. I am now almost finished with No. 5. I can’t believe how fast I am reading them. I love Monica and Jonathan. These are really well written and I love the dialogue and the story. I will be sorry when I have read the last book. I may have to read the series all over again.
