Marriage Games: (The Games Duet, Part One)

I just don't get the whole humiliation and dog collars ,the begging and crawling and pain and the to need to treat someone so degradingly. And no matter what face you put on it that's what it boils down to humiliation ,power, anger, Revenge,. . And then to say the sub has all the power. She only has the power that the dominant allows then she punished for saying anything that he doesn't like . A dominant Revels in the power. I keep trying to understand these books. I like the character Diana. I like Charlie. I like the author. So I'll try to read the last book to see if I change my mind about it.

I really enjoyed reading this book, the only thing that would make this book completely perfect is if I was able to purchase it through the google book store/app store. Why can't I purchase the book? I can only read the sample version, not the entire book, the google book store doesn't even have the second book: Separation Games. Please make both books available for purchase!

I don't know how I feel about it. Do I love it? Simply like it? Something in between? Nonetheless, the story was compelling. CD Reiss is a talented writer. She wrote a story about married couple discovering themselves. Marriage Games is written in two parts; part one in Adam's POV and part two in Diana's. It goes between past and present. It started slow for me. I wasn't quite able to connect with the characters, and it took me awhile to get into the story. But that didn't stop me from wanting to continue reading. I was curious to see where it was going and where it would take the characters. I liked Adam. His love for Diana and his emotions were raw and heartbreaking. At first Diana came off as callous, manipulative only going after one thing. It made me doubt the love she had for Adam, but it wasn't until during her POV that I started to understand her and the choices she made regarding Adam. Serena and Stefan are a loose cannon. I thought I had them figured out, but I was thrown in for a loop. Charlie is a good friend to Adam. He's like the voice of reason. I hope he befriends Diana and helps her with any questions or doubts she may have. I like that the characters are flawed. They are not perfect. They struggle with some sort of inner conflict. There is a sense of realness about them. Marriage Games ends in a cliffhanger. It changes things. The ending wasn't a complete surprise for me. After it was revealed the kind of woman Adam couldn't love, I knew it was heading in that direction. I'm looking forward to read Separation Games.
